Brooke grew up in the suburbs of Washington D.C. and currently resides in Philadelphia. She has a BA in Anthropology from Oberlin College and an MA in Anthropology from Brown University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Visual Anthropology at Temple University, under the supervision of Dr. Jayasinhji Jhala.

Brooke’s research incorporates photography as both documentary method and object of study. Her research interests include gender, embodiment, and transnational media. Brooke has conducted ethnographic research in Nabagoye, Uganda, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. She currently works with the Francisville Neighborhood Development Committee to integrate photography into the process of community development. » Brooke’s C.V.
